As long as you have an active Internet connection we can provide remote support services for most computer and laptop problems. This includes performance issues, viruses, email problems and other similar issues.
It may be that you don’t have time to book in a call-out, or you have an urgent problem that you want fixed immediately. In these cases, online support is ideal.
When necessary we can also troubleshoot Internet connectivity problems remotely as well – we can talk you through the troubleshooting steps over the phone in order to get you reconnected. Although its always best to arrange a call-out when your Internet is not working, in some situations remote support is still beneficial – for example if you are too far away for a call-out.
How to Set up Remote Support
We use Team Viewer to set up remote support sessions and fix computer problems remotely. Team Viewer can be downloaded here. Simply click on the “Download for free” button, then run the setup file once the download is complete. During the installation select basic installation and free / personal or non-commercial use.
Once Team Viewer is installed you can simply provide us with the ID and password, then we can connect remotely to your computer or laptop to fix your problem.
Regular Online Support
Ordinarily we would advise uninstalling Team Viewer once we have fixed your computer remotely. However, if you would like on-going remote support for your PC then we can set up persistent remote access. With this in place we can remotely access your computer whenever you ask us to do so and without any additional input required from you.
This on-going remote support is ideal if you want us to be able to fix any problems that arise in the future. We have this arrangement with lots of customers who need their computer problems repaired quickly and efficiently. We would put an agreement in place whereby we only access the computer when requested to do so, and we can then fix problems remotely and with minimal interaction from the customer – the only stipulation is that the computer is online and accessible.
